The Clearglaze Experience

Our constant year-on-year growth has benefitted us in many ways, i.e. allowing us access to market leading products and preferential treatment and favourable prices from our suppliers,

This became even more accessible in 2016 when we became part of Thermaglaze in Wiltshire who had already added Firmseal of Yeovil to its family in 2013.

This controlled and exiting expansion extends our reach across the south west providing access for many more customers to enjoy ‘The Clearglaze Experience’.

We care about “all” our customers, and “especially” our reputation and we all work hard every day to earn it, deserve it & and to keep it. (Oh, and our coffee – we do great coffee!).

Our ethos is a simple one!

To exceed our customers’ expectations by delivering lasting value, exceptional standards & an unrivalled service second to none every time. Thus being the first name considered when enhance their homes and thus becoming their supplier of choice.

The Clearglaze Family

Since our Birth back in 1980 we have strived and hopefully succeeded in becoming Bath Homeowners company of choice when considering home improvements.

Now celebrating 4 decades of service to our local community!

Clearglaze started from humble beginnings by Roy and his daughter Suzy. The inspiration came from Roy working for a national company as a Sales manager, travelling up and down the country. He grew tired of the ethos behind our industry at that time, namely inflated prices, pressure selling, generally poor workmanship and virtually NO after care service.

Roy knew he could offer more do better So, In 1980, Roy and Suzy opened the Shaftesbury Road showroom in Oldfield Park Bath with a simple mission – to provide free, friendly, expert advice to customers, with zero pressure, no deposits and no pushy salespeople, just genuine hard working  people imparting their knowledge and helping customers make an informed decision.

Roy retired in 1985 and so Suzy took the helm and continued to grow the business, in the same vain.

Clearglaze started with just one installation team, led by Roger (now the Clearglaze Service engineer, 40 years later).

Clearglaze has grown substantially over the years but have always adhered to keeping that personal service that its always prided its selves on. We are now providing windows and doors for original customer’s children and even grandchildren all these years later, as more than 75% of our weekly enquiries comes through kind recommendations and returning customers.

Dom, Roy’s Grandson & Suzy’s son and who now manages Clearglaze grew up learning about the industry from Roy and Suzy, spending summer holidays in the showroom talking to customers and in 2013 he officially joined the CG team. Dom wanted to spread the good word of CG even further, and to grow so he began by expanding the product range and grew the marketing.

By the end of 2016, Clearglaze had tripled in size and Suzy had decided she wanted to retire after 36 years hard work of dedicated service to the company.

Suzy & Dom had come across Thermaglaze in Wiltshire on numerous occasions and had realised that they operated with the very same ethos and attitude to its customers that Clearglaze and has and  reputation to match.

So, meetings were had and we took the mutual decision to join forces, meaning that together they could help even more customers across the South West with their home improvement needs.

Now, in 2020, we have arguably the largest and best product range in the South West, several teams of expert “CERTASS” approved installers and surveyors, along with after care teams second to none consisting of Dom’s  Uncle Roger and Laura who can be found in the Clearglaze showroom  & who will have been with Clearglaze for 20 years this year.

The team would like to take this opportunity to thank all its wonderful and loyal customers during the past 40 years for all your continued support and we hope to be of service again soon.

We’d also love to see you in our local Bath showroom, where you can browse our product range at your leisure with a cup of fresh coffee and a biscuit.
