This became even more accessible in 2016 when we became part of Thermaglaze in Wiltshire, which had already added Firmseal of Yeovil to its family in 2013.
This exciting expansion extended our reach across the Southwest, allowing many more customers to enjoy the Clearglaze experience.

The Clearglaze Family
Since our Birth in 1980, we have strived and hopefully succeeded in becoming Bath homeowners’ company of choice when considering home improvements.
Celebrating four decades of service to our local community!
Clearglaze started from humble beginnings with Roy and his daughter Suzy. Roy’s inspiration came from working for a national company as a sales manager, travelling up and down the country. He grew tired of the ethos behind our industry at that time, namely inflated prices, pressure selling, generally poor artistry, and virtually no after-care service.
Roy knew he could offer more and do better. In 1980, Roy and Suzy opened the Shaftesbury Road showroom in Oldfield Park Bath with a simple mission—to provide free, friendly, expert advice to customers. There was zero pressure, no deposits, and no pushy salespeople—just genuine, hardworking people imparting their knowledge and helping customers make informed decisions.
Roy retired in 1985, and Suzy took the helm and continued to grow the business similarly.
We started with just one installation team, led by Roger (who is now the head CG service engineer 40 years later).
Clearglaze has grown substantially over the years but has always maintained the personal service it prides itself on. Years later, we now provide windows and doors for original customers’ children and grandchildren. More than 75% of our weekly enquiries come through kind recommendations and returning customers.
Dom, Roy’s grandson and Suzy’s son, who now manages Clearglaze, grew up learning about the industry from Roy and Suzy. He spent the summer holidays in the showroom talking to customers, and in 2013, he officially joined the CG team. Dom wanted to spread the word about CG further, so he began by expanding the product range and growing the marketing.
By the end of 2016, Clearglaze had tripled in size, and Suzy had decided she wanted to retire after 36 years of hard work and dedicated service to the company.
Suzy and Dom had encountered Thermaglaze in Wiltshire on numerous occasions.
They realised they operated with the same ethos and attitude to their customers as Clearglaze and had a reputation to match.
So, we had meetings and mutually decided to join forces, meaning that together, we could help even more customers across the Southwest with their home improvement needs.
By 2020, we had arguably the most extensive and best product range in the South West and several teams of expert CERTASS-approved installers and surveyors. Aftercare teams are led by Doms Uncle Roger, and Laura, who will have been with Clearglaze for 20 years this year.
